Certified Massage Technician

Two Week Intensive Certification

October 18, Saturday thru November 1, Saturday

10:00am to 6:00pm

This beginning class teaches the students  THREE styles of massage, Swedish, LifeStream and Seated Chair.  Also taught Reflexology, Anatomy, Aromatherapy  and Business Practices. Hands-on classroom instruction with videos provided to students makes for a very thorough training

 

Cost: $1600                   Credit clock hours: 200        

 

 

Advanced Class Students

Please bring your massage table, sheets, a hand towel and notebook.

Handouts and in many cases, videos or DVD’s are provided.

 

Deep Tissue Bodywork  Sundays 10am-6:00pm

Sept. 14, 21,28, Oct 5, 12, Test on Nov 2nd.

Many massage employers are requiring deep tissue training these days.  This class provides the student with a “deep tissue toolbox”. Learn 4 sets of deep tissue strokes which to use on the major problem areas of the body. We also delve into the physiology of deep work and how it has a different effect on soft tissue than other types of massage. Also you will lean the contraindications and benefits of this technique.

 

Tui Na, Class 5  Mon. evenings  6 p.m.—10 p.m

Sept 15, 22, 29, Oct 6 & 13Mon. evenings  6 p.m.—10 p.m.

NOTE: If you take the Deep Tissue class at the same time as Tui Na 5, we will give you a $75 discount.  So this class would be $175.

 

Ok, so now we get into the bigger mobilizations.  This is some of the best technique for opening up the low back that there is. This class expands your Tui Na skills to a greater level of effectiveness and also includes deep mobilizations of the joints, especially the hip.

Tui Na 6 is Tui Na chair massage.  We have been getting more and more requests for students to do chair massages at parties, businesses, fairs etc.  This class will turn you into one of the best chair massage practitioners around.  Bring your massage chair if you have one.  

 

Anatomy 7: The Hip   Sundays 10am-6:00pm

Many people have been asking us to teach this class. The hip is one of the most problematic areas of the body to effectively release. In this class you will learn the origins and insertions of  many of the major muscles of the hip and many advanced bodywork techniques to release these muscles.  Especially the periformis, glutilas, deep hip rotators, (the POGO muscles ) and the groin area. We are noticing there is a definite lack of massage therapists trained in advanced body work technique.  This is one  of our advanced bodywork certification classes. 

 

 

Acupressure 6:  12 Organ Meridians

Every other Thursday Eve. 6 p.m.—10 p.m.

Cost $225        Prerequsite:  Acupressure 5                      Credit hrs. 30

Learn the “secret spots”. Learn the pathways for all 12 organ meridians and the basic flow of energy over the body according to Chinese Medicine.  The meridian pathways are required knowledge for the National Certification Test.  2 spaces left.  Call for class location. You can join late!
